Welcome!

Lovers of history, unite! Haters of history, you might want to stick around, too.

As a life-long enthusiast of the study of history, I am delighted to have the opportunity to teach middle-school-level history at Ashbrook. I think our core curriculum is fantastic, and having the opportunity to supplement those courses with a series of electives allows me to provide a more comprehensive education for each Ashbrook student. Let's begin.

My Journey Westward

I spent much of my life Back East:  I grew up in western Pennsylvania, moved to Washington, D.C., after college, then moved to New Hampshire to teach in a boarding school. I took a detour to Charlottesville, Virginia, to teach in a public high school, but realized that I missed New England.
Upon returning to New Hampshire, I continued to teach history at a small boarding school. I spent a brief tenure as the school's accountant and human resources representative, but longed to return to teaching. My search for a new classroom led me west to Oregon! I'm happy to call The Heart of the Valley home.
