11/9/2020 Vina Moses Giving TreeAs a community service project, the fifth- and sixth-graders are going to team up to sponsor Ashbrook's Vina Moses Giving Tree. Here are the details, as provided by the lovely folks at Vina Moses.
Welcome to our Digital Giving Tree! Please choose one or more tags on our site and pledge to purchase a gift for a child. Our program reaches 1,500 children every year. When you check out, you will receive confirmation of your pledge, ideas of where to shop, and details about how and where your gift/s can be shipped to Vina Moses Center or dropped off at our Christmas Store. Gifts for educational or active play are especially needed. Digital Giving Tree: Use https://www.vinamoses.org/giving-tree to “pick a tag” from the tree by “purchasing” a tag. If you would like to make a financial contribution, please visit our donation page.
Thank you for bringing kindness and joy to local families! 10/27/2020 The Ashbrook SpooktacularThis Friday, 30 October, is the first-ever Ashbrook Spooktacular! This socially-distanced, Ashbrook student event features a costume contest, flying pumpkins, and the announcement of the winners of the pumpkin carving contest.
Check out last week's Ashbrook Compass for more details. We hope to see you there! 10/26/2020 Socktober is winding down...Don't forget that the fourth-grade service project, Socktober, winds down this week. Please drop off your new, clean pairs of socks in the collection bin at the school entrance. The bin is outside from 7:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The last day to drop off socks is 28 October! That's Wednesday! 10/23/2020 Pumpkin Carving ContestA pandemic can't stop Ashbrook's annual pumpkin carving contest! Bring your carved pumpkins to school on Monday or Tuesday (you can place them in the drop-off area at the entrance) for next week's judging. The youngest members of our community will vote in-person, and a virtual ballot will be available for all students who are in virtual learning.
For more details, check out last week's Ashbrook Compass. 10/5/2020 Socktober! The fourth-grade class is asking for donations of new, clean, pairs of socks to distribute to the homeless of Benton County. Here's their message:
"We (the 4th-grade class) want to help the homeless people in Benton County by providing socks to improve their health and wellness. You can donate socks at our school. There will be a box outside the front doors during school hours from 7:45 AM- 4:00 PM on October 2-28. Our goal is to get at least 1,000 pairs of socks. There are more homeless people than you think. There are about 1200 homeless people just in Corvallis. Thank you! We appreciate your help, and it will help the community." As you come to Materials Pick-Up today, why not drop off a pair (or two, or more!) of socks to help our community members who are struggling? Thanks for your consideration. 10/2/2020 Materials Pick-Up Day on MondayCourse materials needed for the next month will be available for pick-up on Monday, 5 October, from 3-5 p.m. Course reading packets for both Heroes, Myths, and Legends courses will be distributed at that time.
9/3/2020 Very much a work in progressIn the not-too-distant future, this site will be a hub of information for Ashbrook families. Obviously, it's not quite there yet, so stay tuned for future developments. I appreciate your patience during the growing pains of this new endeavor. Categories |
